Letterman at the University of Tennessee (1953-1954) All-SEC (1954) Held UT record for rushing yards in a games for 15 years. Best Games 10/31/53 at North Carolina, 92 yards and two touchdowns.11/28/53; Vanderbilt 48 yards on 10 carries two touchdowns 2 extra points; 10/9/1954 72-yard run two extra points vs. Tennessee Chattanooga, 10/16/1954 vs. Alabama 9 carries for 32 yards. 10/30/1954 vs. North Carolina 14 rushes for 192 yards two touchdowns two extra points and an interception. and 11/6/1954 vs. Georgia Tech 15 carries for 98 yards.

Player for NFL Champions 1957 Detroit Lions, Played in 1958, 1961 Pro Bowl. Was 6th in the NFL in rushing in 1960, 7th in yards from scrimmage in 1960 and tied for 6th in rushing touchdowns in 1960.

Famous for leading comeback vs San Fransisco in 1957 Play-offs. Filling in for Hopalong Cassidy and John Henry Johnson. Tom scored two touchdowns,  a one-yard run and a 58-yard run to help over come a 27-7 halftime deficit. Tracy rushed for 86 yards on 11 carries. He caught one pass for 7 yards. Detroit won the NFL title 59-14 over the Browns the next week.
