Three-year letterman (1940-1942) All-State 1942,  All-TVAA 1942-1941. Team Captain 1942. Member of two TVAA championship teams (1940, 1941). Four-year lettermen at the University of Michigan (1943, 1944, 1945, 1946) Started 15 career games at center. Played for 1943 Big Ten Champions. All-Big Ten 1945.
