Freshman Football:

The goals for freshman football:

  1. Create an atmosphere where the players have an easier adjustment socially and academically to High School. For this reason most freshman will play freshman football. This is not a football decision but a social decision. Freshman year is pivotal for students to find their peer group and what role they will play in High School. We believe freshman football will be a benefit for your student-athletes.
  2. Have Fun- we would like the freshman back as sophomores in the program.
  3. Learn how to play fundamentally sound football. Basic tackling, blocking, offensive and defensive schemes will be taught. We can teach them fancy plays and schemes on the varsity.  The fundamentals are really what win football games.
  4. Improvement. The record of the freshman is really not the objective. We would like to team to improve. Usually by the end of the season our freshman teams have been good solid teams.
  5. Everyone who has met the teams practice rules will play at least one play in each game.

Junior Varsity:

Goals of JV football:

  1. Have fun. We would like them back in the program as juniors.
  2. Develop as many players as possible. The elite athletes in the grade will likely be brought up to varsity. There are two reasons: (1) The varsity is the end product and every resource possible to help the teams success will be used. These sophomores will be the cornerstones of the program when they are seniors. (2) It gives a chance for other players to play and start. This will help with numbers and depth in the future. Many of these players were backups on the freshman team, they will now get a chance to play and improve. For some it may be the only time they get to play for an extended time in a game.
  3. Learn how to play fundamentally sound football. Basic tackling, blocking, offensive and defensive schemes will be taught. We can teach them fancy plays and schemes on the varsity.  The fundamentals are really what win football games.
  4. Improvement. The record of the JV team is really not the objective. We would like to team to improve. Usually by the end of the season our JV teams have been good solid teams.
Everyone who has met the teams practice requirements will play at least one play in each game.
